Upon successful completion of all
classroom requirements, students are expected to perform
their externship at local clinics or hospitals. It is the
responsibility of the school to arrange for externships. During
externship a student’s performance will be supervised by
externship site staff. Externships are not paid and are
included in the total program hours. The school will not receive
any monetary compensation for externships. Students must
complete at least 15 hours per week and no more than 40 hours
per week. Students must make up absences that may occur during
their externship to ensure that the required extern hours are
completed prior to graduation. Students will have up to one
year from the last date they successfully complete all classroom
requirements to complete their program externship hours. If a
student does not complete their program externship hours within
that period of time, they will not receive a certificate of
completion.
